CREATIVE manufactures molds from printed data, computer designs or from a combination of both. Following is an outline of our data capabilities and requirements.

FILE TYPES
Required data files include two dimensional control drawings and surface files.

2D Drawing Files:
Typically in .dxf or .igs format, should include critical dimensions, dimensions with non-standard tolerances, appropriate number of cross sections, indication of textured surfaces (and type) and related drawing notes.

Surface Files:
Typically in .igs format, required for machining complex surfaces, determination of drafts and for querying part dimensional data.

Additionally, wire frame (.igs) and stereolithography (.stl) files can be used for the development of mold drawings, conceptual understanding of parts and determination of parting lines.

SOFTWARE
CREATIVE can receive and send data created from the following CAD software programs and formats (in order of preference):

SolidWorks (.sldprt, .slddrw, .sldasm, .igs, .step)
